A Wet Day at Work and these Bike Racks just won't do.

It was pretty moist today at work. We're in an older hospital, and the air exchange isn't the greatest, which makes the job on very hot and/or humid days a little uncomfortable. The patients are feeling it too. Some are getting quite vexed by it. There are others however that are dealing with it as best as they can, like the old lady that asked me if she could have 20 towels for the day and if we could freeze a jug of water solid for her overnight tonight. I'm only assuming she'd take that frozen jug and hug it overnight until all the worries in her world melted away. Because that's what I'd do. I told her I didn't think we had enough towels to meet her demands. She got a little upset and threw a moist facecloth at me. I'm assuming the moisture was sweat, which makes it pretty gross because it hit me in the face.

My mouth was open a little bit.

After work I picked my ass off the futon in my cramped bedroom (a story for another day) and went straight to the store to get groceries to make myself a supper that would last me for the week. When I got to the bike racks, I was pleased to find them nearly full. This makes me quite happy and restores my faith in society, as people seem to be understanding that a bike can be as utilitarian as it can be for fitness and sport. In some cases, bikes can be just as utilitarian as a car.

While I was in the store however, I couldn't concentrate because I had this song in my head the entire time. The cashier I had was young and cute. Despite this fact, we did not engage in conversation.
